Lovely days of blessed praise
Around me thou hast stayed
Keeping my mind and heart alike
Ever turning upward to grace

Grounded in great thanks
Carrying me on the wings of the wind
Comprehending understanding
Praying to be found in Him

Every detail of every day
Each need and every desire
All the conflicts serve as
Kindling to the fire

Purifying me
To be His alone
Causing me to return
And be all that He has created me to be for His glory.

DRINK IT UP

The reality of joy when it comes to you
After oceans of tears and days of pain
The scent of the moment in walking for miles
Resting against the rock and feeling the strain
Tirelessly pulling, pressing, and gripping to find a hold
Glimpses of beautiful wildlife left alone
Listening and waiting and praying through the night
Wrestling with reasons and longing for life...

HEART IN A HAMMOCK

My heart is in a hammock
Resting against the faith of love
Being rocked by the light
Held by the strong presence of truth
My mind is down river
Looking for the perfect place to pull out or put in
Paddling through rough and choppy waters
Sustaining the wind and unexpected turns
The sun will shine again soon - miles around the bend
Enjoying the view even when it gets tough
Prayer powers this paddle and Lord you always give me more than enough.

RISE ABOVE

Wake me up to rise above
This ever writhing stage
Paint for me the picture
Of your heart upon the page
Lead me here by your word
Open my understanding to yours
Cause me to know your mind

Trusting you - I am helped
Abiding under your protection
Wisdom is near to me

Each of us have a part to play, love to live, a place to be
So lift your hands, surrender and receive
Perfect love that cast out all fear and believe

Stop sinking into the mire
Of self pity, lies, and defeat
If Christ is your life, He alone is your victory!

PRESSED NOT CRUSHED

Endeavoring to keep the unity of the spirit
Hurting, healing, I can feel it
Pressed, but not crushed
Overwhelmed and being rushed
Remaining calm
Unmoved by the callapse of time and thought
Reflecting on the Psalms

Through it all drawing nearer
Watching truth make it all clearer
Embracing hardship is becoming a blessing
Forgiveness is continually confessing
It's own faults and failings
Truly listening and responding
Live love instead of comparing

Nevermind the over-thinking
Trying so hard to make it
Be vulnerable, stop pretending
Pain is proof healing's not far away
Why waste time considering a lie
