TRUTH BE TOLD

Cannot smile at the lies they tell our children
Yet expect them to grow up and be upright and honest
Clapping for the actors and superficial behaviour
Encouraging them to believe in something but not the Saviour
Painting for them make believe pictures not to offend
Made up stories, singalong, pretend

Call it traditions, pass them on
If it feels good it can't be wrong
Use your imagination, be all you can
The future is in your hands
No boundaries, no fear, no thanks
Entertainment, commercials, and games

The people cast off restraint collecting their toys
For a lack of knowledge they are destroyed
Measuring details of their lives by the comprehensive standard
Unable to hear the truth, unwilling to obey the commandments
Discovering the possibilities, falling into debt
Not leaving home without it, they forget

Life is not what you make it
No matter how hard you try
Only one is good and that is God
No one else, nothing else satisfies
Much of this you already know
Truth be told...
